10.25.12. Best day of my life!

So there have been two bands that have been my favorite bands for the past 10ish years, they are BOYS LIKE GIRLS and ALL AMERICAN REJECTS! :) I have been waiting for years to be able to go to one of their concerts!  Before I left for my sophmore year of college saw that they were on tour together (along with The Ready Set and Parachute) and I was hoping that I would have friends that had a car and would want to go!  Turns out I do have amazing friends!  The girls from apartment 104 and one from 108, Megan, Bre, Coralie, Kylie, Devanie, Elise and Amanda!  It was one of the best nights of my life and I'm so glad I got to experience it with these girls!

We left Rexburg around 5:30 pm and got to Club Centenario around 6:30!  Because we had friends that started to wait in line at 3 pm we were one of the first people in line, probably 20th in line!  The bad part was, it was snowing!  We waited in line in the blowing snow, which was horrible because before I got to the club I was lookin' so cute with my hair teased and make up great, by the time we were let into the club, the hair was matted and make up gone!  I was lookin nasty!  We got let in at 7:30!  Because we were one of the first people in line we got very good spots!  I was in the front row!  It was a stand only concert and I was the one who was squished up against the gate!  In front of us was this place where the amp sat and where the bands could get closer to the crowd!  Front row!  AMAZING!

First to perform was Parachute!  They were the opening act, so they had about 8 songs!  Some of the songs they sang were The New Year and Kiss Me Slowly!  They were so cool because they were really interactive with the crowd!  They would go on the amp and reach out into the crowd and grab hands and they were just really fun!

You know how usually in between acts the crowd will disperse and give each other room to breathe?  Well aparently this crowd didn't know that, they pushed even when no one was on stage!  I about broke my ribs because I was up against the gate and they were pushing so hard that I had to grab hold of the amp to help the pain from my ribs go away! Haha, but it was so worth it!

Next up was All American Rejects!  THEY WERE AMAZING!  Honestly they are tied for first for being the best band I have ever been to!  Tyson Ritter (the lead singer) was the funniest person I have ever seen on stage!  He was really really funny!  He is so flamboyant and acts like Steven Tyler, it made it 1000X better :) Nick Wheeler was so good!  He shredded that guitar!  And he is hot so that is such a plus!  Mike Kennerty is like the little brother of the band!  Its so funny!  He is precious and also shredded it on the guitar!  And of course, Chris Gaylore on the drums was unbelievable   SO GOOD!  They preformed Dirty Little Secret, Fallin' Apart, My Paper Heart, Beekeeper's Daughter, I Wanna, Walk Over Me, Swing Swing, Kids In The Street, Mona Lisa, It Ends Tonight, Move Along, Heartbeat Slowing Down and Gives You Hell!  When they came out playing Dirty Little Secret I about fainted, I definently had a little fan girl moment!  Dirty Little Secret has been my jam for years, and to finally see it live was the most glorious moment of my life!  By the end of that song alone I was sweating so badly, that is when I knew that it was going to be a long/hot/sweaty/amazing concert!  I was in awe of the boys up there!  Everything about that band is amazing! During the whole time Tyson would say, "Where the heck did this crowd come from in the middle of Idaho?  What the eff?  This crowd is amazing!"  Things like that!  He kept saying how amazing we were and how it was one of the best crowds on the whole tour!  So one time Tyson jumped into the crowd and was crowd surfing, but when he tried to get back to the stage people kept pulling him back so security had to grab him and push people off him, and in the process his tank top was ripped off him and he lost his ear pieces (which singers have to have in order to hear themselves)!  He said they they would have to cut the last song unless someone found his ear pieces!  But luckily a fan found them and gave them to him and because she found them she was able to get to go on stage for their last song!  I was so jealous!  They were so so so so good!  I would highly recommend anyone who has the chance to see them to go see them!  It is an awesome, mind blowing show!  Oh and I got to talk to Tyson after the show :)  He is so nice!

Next on the stage was Boys Like Girls!  Man words can't describe how amazing they were live!  Boys Like Girls and All American Rejects are the BEST bands I have EVER seen live, and I have seen almost 20 people live!  Boys Like Girls...  I can barley put into words how amazing it was!  Martin Johnson (Lead singer/guitarist), Paul DiGiovanni (Lead guitar), John Keefe (drums) and Morgan Dorr (bass/back up vocals) are such amazing men!  So the first song was The Great Escape and man let me tell you, the crowd went wild!!!!  When the band walked onto the stage I about passed out because for some reason I forgot how HOT they were!  Holy crap, they are the hottest guys I have ever seen!  Then during a break when only guitars and drums was playing, Martin sat on the amp (which was directly in front of me) and looked me in my eyes for like 10 seconds and then said, and I quote "I want you".  Yea I know, I still can't believe it!  MARTIN FREAKING JOHNSON SAID HE WANTED ME!  I didn't even know what to do and how to react, so I just looked at him and you know gave him the "smolder" and bit my lip!  I was freaking out big time and about died!  The girls I went with were freaking out for me, while the other girls around me were giving me death glares hahaha!  I was hyperventilating big time.  He is (and has been for years) my celebrity crush!  It would have been amazing even if that was all that happened, but there is more!  Well during the whole concert Martin would look at me and sing to me during each song, every song he would look me directly in my eyes and sing TO ME!  He pretty much sang the whole Hero/Heroine song to me!  And if that wasn't enough, right after the song Life Of The Party Martin looks into the crowd and asks, and again I quote, "Where's my Idaho girlfriend at?  She's a fiery redhead girl".  Then he looks at me and winks!  I. About. Died. It was so amazing <3  During the concert the band would teach us new songs and we would have to sing it back really loud because if we didn't they would get "mad" at us!  During Life Of The Party they brought up a boy from the crowd and that guy got to dance with Martin, my boyfriend!  I was so jealous! :) That would have been so cool!  Then after the last song, the crowd was going crazy after they left the stage saying things like, "One more song!  One more song"!  So the band came back onto the stage and tried to talk into the mic, but the mic wasn't working along with all of the guitars!  Nothing was working because the club had shut off the power because the concert was over!  The boys were getting really mad because they just wanted to play and talk to the crowd!  But eventually they got things working and told us that not once had they done an encore!  Not once on their whole entire tour had they ever had an encore and there was only 4 more stops on the tour!  That really surprised me!  They were stoked that they were able to go an encore!  Their encore song was "The Great Escape"!  The crowd went nuts and it was pretty much perfect! Overall, Boys Like Girls was amazing live!  Their voices and music, along with their personalities were hilarious and nice and awesome!  Then to top it all off I got to meet the whole band and I got a signed poster :) Best day ever!

Oh John!  It was so cute because he was smiling pretty much the whole time he was drumming!  Well smiling or gritting his teeth!  Who knows! haha :)

By the end of the concert everyone was sweating big time and sore from jumping up and down!  This concert was the best night of my life and I am not over exaggerating at all!  It was such an amazing experience that I will never ever forget!  I am so glad that I was able to go and see my favorite people perform and meet my idols!  I am also so blessed to have experienced it with the 7 most amazing girls!  Lets do another concert soon?  Ooooo if BLG or AAR comes again to either Blackfoot, Boise or Salt Lake we should go!  Man this night was amazing, more than I could have asked for!  By the end we were sweaty and exhausted!  Passed out in the car!

The night that changed my life forever

Rexburg Post #2

What else has happened since I last postes?  Well school is school.  Lots of homework, I dont go to bed until after midnight because of all the homework (and some distractions to).  But I do love my classes!  Im taking Math for the Real World, Tap Dancing, Children's Lit, Beauty and Creativity, The History of Education and Book of Mormon!  My favorites are Tap Dancing and Children's Lit!  Love those classes, and the teachers!

A few weekends ago my roommates, my friends from room 104 and I went to a free concert and let me tell you, it was EPIC!  We were right in the front and it was so crazy!

One day, last sunday I made the most delicious cake in the whole entire world! Its called Better than Sex cake or Better than whatever cake :) It is so good!

Oh and guess what came in the mail!  A CARE PACKAGE!  Full of homemade toffee, candy corn for the roommates, my paycheck from work, my checks that I ordered, pictures from my family and a letter from my mom!  I love my family so much!  I miss them, they are great!

 I just love everything about college here in Idaho :) There is nothing in the world that I would trade these experiences for!  I love my roommates, my ward, my classes, everything!  I do miss home, and I know home misses me, but Ill be back soon!  Gahhhh I just cant believe how much I love it here!  Oh and guess what!  This guy named Kurt..... IS TAKING ME MUDDING IN HIS F-150 :) I AM SO EXCITED :) :) :) Now it just needs to rain so there is mud!

My First Weekend At BYU Idaho!!!

This past week has literally been the best weekend of my life!  On Wednesday I explored Rexburg, got moved in to my apartment, and got my textbooks/i-card!  Then on Thursday I met my wonderful roommates!  These girls are wonderful!  We have clicked and bonded so easily I feel that we have known eachother my whole life!  The roommate that is in the same room as me is named Ashley and is from Galt, California!  She seems very sweet and nice!  She has been with her family who she doesnt get to see alot in Idaho Falls everyday this past weekend so we havent had alot of time to bond, but the time we have had she has been a wonderful roommate!  Another roommate is named Joye!  Joye is such a sweetheart!  She is 5'0'' and a ball of fun!  She was shy when I first met her but I pulled her out of her comfort shell.  She is from Farmington, Utah!  The girl that she is roomming with is named Morgan!  They grew up together in Farmington!  She is one of the nicest girls ever!  She is 5'2'' so that room is full of shorties!  Then we have Nicolette who is from Colorado Springs and she is so sweet!  She has a big heart!  So we have clicked with this group of boys, and one of the boys is named Zach.  Nicolette and Zach like eachother, so cute!  Then Nicolette's roommate is named Tori!  Tori is from New York, about an hour away from NYC!  Its so cool!  She has this small accent whenever she says a word with an A in it!  So funny!  Overall, I am so excited that we are all roommates.  These are a bunch of fabulous, HOT girls!  Guys, hot RM's...  Come at us ;)

So I think I have made my mark on this BYU Idaho campus because I have for some reason I have been saying YOLO (you only live once) to everything!  So pretty much everyone says it! 

So much has happened this weekend, that I have no clue where to start!  It has been a weekend that has 100% felt like EFY all over again!  We were put into groups called I-teams and what I-teams are, are groups that you hang out with, go to meetings and explore campus with!  You do everything your first weekend with this group!  My roommates and these boys names Zach, Chance and Britton all bonded the first night we met!  It was crazy, so the boys are always at our house because we have a 50'' tv with dish satellite!  We heard the president of the college speak about the spirit of the campus and it was very good!  That night there were a bunch of games on the fields which were fun!  The next day we spoke with the directors who are in charge of our major progams!  They seem like great teachers!  Later that night we had a talent show.  Oh my gosh it was the best talent show of my life!  There was everything from singers (who were amazing) to flag dancers to beatboxing.  There was this one beatboxer who was AMAZING!  Literally the best beatboxer I have ever heard in my entire life!  He was so good and hilarious!  It was great! 

The next day we just hung out all day until night when we went to a huge night called I-night which is this HUGE event where you can do anything from sumo wrestling to kareoke to dancing to lazer tag to envlateable races and everything like that!  It was one huge carnival!  It was so much fun!  The dance was the best part!  This whole weekend was just a blast!  I cant even put into words all the fun times I have had! 


Well there is definently more stories to come about my wonderful adventure here in Idaho!

Vacation :)

Well it is obvious that I havent been posting much lately so I have alot to catch up on!  This summer has been quite an adventerous one!  I have worked alot for a place called Kids Junction through the City of Rocklin.  It is a summer day care at Cobblestone Elementary School.  Those kids are so cute but man sometimes they are so disrespectful that I want to quit my job.  But I get to go on field trips to the movies, pool, taco bell, etc, so I guess its worth it!

I took a well deserved vacation from Kids Junction to go to three different reunions!  Three reunions was alot, but they were alot of fun!  The first reunion was on my dads side, the Baird reunion, in a camp ground outside of Twin Falls, Idaho!  I met lots of my dads cousins and their children as well as hanging out with my aunts, uncles and cousins!  One of the new cousins that I met names Nora is around 14 months played with my make-up for a whole hour one morning!

After a wonderful three days with the Garrett/Baird reunion we traveled to Heber, Utah for the Jackson reunion!  Compared to the campsite we were at for the Baird reunion, this campsite was like a Marriot!  It is a girls camp, only open for familys the 4th of July week and the 24th of July week!  It was a wonderful campsite with bunkbeds, a huge pavillion for meals, campfire (which we could light because of the fire problems Utah has been having), ropes courses, boats and wonderful people!  It was such an amazing and spiritual time!  I got to become closer with the cousins on my moms side!  We stayed up till two in the morning every night playing cards and talking!
